when we had a less rainy day we found a covered table and emptied the truck in search of our little friend but we never found it. no more food has been eaten so it either got eatin by carbon or he found his way out somewhere along the way. or he could just be hiding really well.
we were off to northern maine to find some trains. it was a little rainy but we decided to go for it any way. As we made our way though the forest the veiws got better and better and the roads got worse and worse. We spent at least 3 hours trying to find the right road to get close to the trains but never found it. we took our truck down a cuple of trails that it didnt really fit.
Can you find the trail? i promise its there.
we had just come threw this only to find out it was imposible to go further. so we turned around and went back through.
eventually we found the right road but it had been closed off so we had to hike a lot longer than we originaly expected. We went for it anyway. the further we got in the harder it started raining. we kept going fearing that we were right by the trains and not wanting to come so close and not see them. But of course it was pouring and the trail was 6 inches deap with water. we were completly soaked and geting cold. so we made the dificult desison to head back to the truck. i still want to see them so ill be back some day but the weather said rain for at least another week.
While in maine i wanted to see those trians and jamie wanted to get sea food.
Sence the train idea failed we were really counting on the lobster dinner to fix our memories of this place. most everything has already closed for the season(really annoying). but we found a place that didnt look to expinsive and still looked good( it kinda looked like Hatfields, a small burger joint in tulsa). we spent $40!!! for one meal pretty much. i still dont like sea food. the lobster was really expinsive and we got about as much as a hotdog( we really wanted to go to a nice resturant and get a whole lobster instead of just some lobster meat). we got a lobster roll and the fishermans dinner. which was fried shrimp, fried clams, fried scallops, and fried haddock with a side of fries and cole slaw. we both didnt like the clams. but jamie was ok with the rest but, really liked the shrimp and lobster.
next stop was boston. so we drove into massachusetts and found a campground. (there all still expinsive, cant wait to go west) while we were there we saw some seals laying out on the rocks and i was fasinated by how much the tide moved(never been on the ocean much). as we walked down the beach there were crab body parts everywhere from when the sea gulls get them. messy eater i guess.
now were just north of boston. were gona go see plymouth rock. thats as far ahead as we plan.
take care then byby now.
